The Georgia marching Band Series is a marching competition utilizing a prelim and final performance format . Bands participating in at least 2 out of 5* of the 2010 events will be eligible to qualify for participation in the Championship Finals on November 6th. *The registration fee paid by member bands entitles bands to participate in 3 series events, enabling them to toss out their lowest score. The average of each bands highest two preliminary scores will determine the eligibly for participation in the GMBS Championship Competition to be held on November 6, 2010, as well as the performance order for each classification.
GMBS events (with the exception of the Championship) will utilize a prelim/final competition format. Each of the four class winners and the groups receiving the next four highest scores will advance to finals competition to be held following the dinner break. For 2010 we are also offering a Festival Ratings category. Bands have the option to attend GMBS events for Festival Ratings only. Bands choosing this option will perform in the middle of the Preliminary and Finals Competitions and will receive Festival Ratings and feedback from the adjudicators, but will not be eligible for Series Awards. Bands choosing this option should use the standard registration form and click the box "For Festival Ratings Only".
